Week 3 — Early Luteal Phase

Ovulation is the most energetically demanding point of the cycle. Estrogen peaks, an egg is released, and the body rapidly shifts toward progesterone production, placing significant strain on energy and metabolic systems.

For many women, the days after ovulation bring a noticeable drop in mental clarity and physical energy. Brain fog, reduced motivation, and slower thinking are common and reflect physiological change rather than mindset.

Energy needs increase during this phase. When calories, carbohydrates, or dietary fat are insufficient, the body draws from reserves, leading to exhaustion, irritability, anxiety, blood sugar instability, and impaired estrogen metabolism. Support during and immediately after ovulation strongly influences how stable or depleted the following week will feel.

What the body wants this week:

  • To slow down during a rapid hormonal shift

  • Less thinking and decision-making

  • Time to adjust
